Currywurst




Currywurst is a world-famous made from sausage wrapped in ‘darm’. It is smeared with curry-flavoured ketchup with heat varying from mild to burning hot. Currywurst was initially invented in Germany and has become a sensational German street food. It is usually served with chips.

Beer



Each region in Germany has its own speciality with regards to its wine. Age old German culture and its laws specify that beer must only contain water, yeast, hops, and malt. German beer is famous not only for its quality but also its quantity.

Spätzle




Spätzle is a vegetarian dish and is a kind of pasta. The dough is made from flour, salt, eggs, and a hint of fizzy water. It is normally topped with a huge amount of cheese. The mountain cheese adds to its taste, and the Limburger adds to its consistency.

Coffee




Grab a drink from any restaurant and its worth every penny. Initially only the wealthy could afford it, but thankfully the game has changed for the good. Coffee in itself is a statement and there no reason to justify its popularity.

Bratkartoffeln





There’s no better way to have the everyday portion of potatoes than eating it as Bratkartoffeln. It is crispy and a regular dish made in Germany. It is prepared by slicing boiled potatoes thinly and frying them with a lot of oil till it turns dark and crispy. Bacon and onions also enhance its flavour

Sauerbraten




Every kid visiting their grandparents in Germany has had their share of this mouth-watering dish. Sauerbraten is translated as sour roast and is served usually during special occasions. It is made from high-quality pieces of meat and marinated for around three to ten days in a mixture of herbs, seasonings, spices, water and vinegar/wine. The meat is cooked for hours, but the result is an incredibly tender and juicy dish.
